Aisling Bea

Aisling was born March 16 1984 in Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's most successful and popular comedians. The comedian has been on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16 March 1984) is a comedian and actress from Ireland. After playing bits on a number of Irish and British TV shows from 2009, Bea was able to begin her career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. In 2012, she was frequently appearing on sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms. After she received an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) and began to be featured often in various panel shows. She was captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team from 2016 to 2017 and was regularly a contestant on the spinoff, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Born to Brian O'Sullivan, she has one sibling named Sinead. She became only the second female to be a winner of the show So You Think You're Funny in the year 2012. Bea the name she was given as her maiden name, is a tribute to her late dad. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan, born Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian passed away when he was just three years old. He was a horse vet. Bea wasn't told the specifics of his passing away until she turned 13. The stage name she chose was Bea to pay tribute to her father. She wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about her family's experience of suicide. Bea and her younger sister Sinead were taken care of by their maternal grandmother Helen (nee Moloney) who was a secondary school teacher jockey trainer and an ex-professional jockey. They were obsessed with races as well as horses. Bea began her career as tourist guides at the Irish National Stud. But she soon realized that her passion was for acting, not racing.
